Regular Meeting held on Tuesday 6th November 2018 at 6.30pm to: 

Celebrate Right. Worthy Bro Alan Locke P.G.G 50 years in the Order
 
The Conclave meeting held at Warrington Masonic Hall on Tuesday 6th November 2018 was attended by 17 members and 17 guests with the prime business of the evening being the celebration of R Wy Bro Alan Locke’s 50 years in the order.
 
The Province was well represented by distinguished guests the Prov. G.S.R. V.Wy.Bro. Terry Maybury; along with his Deputy Prov.G.S.R. John Bicknell.

 

The Prov.Recorder and the Prov.DC along with the Arch of Steel were also present which continued to add lustre to a very sincere ceremony.
 
The meeting was also attended by V.Wy.Bro. George Mitchel the Grand Visitor, who stopped off in Warrington from his home in Scotland to attend Alan’s 50th, celebration on his way to the Grand Conclave in London later in the week.
 
Alan’s long history in the Order and in Freemasonry in general was read out and he was presented with a 50th Celebration Scroll in the Lodge room by the Prov.G.SR.
 
Retiring to the Social Board the brethren were in awe of a very large table plan that depicted scenes from the order which had been produced by Wy.Bro. Mike Hamilton Each brother present was able to sign on his own place setting and the completed table plan was presented to the celebrant at the festive board as a memento of the evening  
Following a superb meal of:
 
  • Mackerel Pate with crusty bread
  • Minced Beef Wellington with seasonal vegetable’s
  • Fresh Fruit Salad
  • Wines to suit
  • Tea; Coffee & Mints
 
Alan’s health was proposed by his life-long friend R.Wy.Bro. Barrie Collinson, to which Alan responded, detailing how he had been recruited into the Order 50 years ago primarily to chauffeur around a group of Grand Officers from Widnes.
 
Alan was then invested with his 50 Year Jewel by the Provincial Supreme Grand Ruler to tumultuous applause.
 
The Grand Visitor responded to the toast to the Visitors and talked about the Order in general; and his many visits during his time in office. He then presented the Conclave with a Bottle of Ardmore Single Malt Whisky for future raffles after watching the Conclave generate £152 for charity from their traditional “Chorley Raffle”
 
To round off a most enjoyable evening one of the guests asked if he could join Warrington Conclave; and duly signed his application form at the festive board.
